Description

The main purpose of the Supervisor, HSE position is to coordinate the implementation of AMHEC safety programs, to prevent and or correct unsafe environmental working conditions, while providing support to the management team, supervisors, coordinators, and employees in executing their job tasks safely.

Job Responsibilities

  • Create HSE alerts and awareness training. 
  • Ensure training on P.P.E awareness is conducted. 
  • Report any unsafe acts, conditions and near misses.
  • Support in maintaining, update, and improve the IMS.
  • Develop and implement training plans for AMHEC employees.
  • Support with HSE internal audits as per the internal audit matrix.
  • Prepare and conduct Toolbox Talks on different safety topics as needed.
  • Train and instruct AMHEC’s employees so they can perform their work safely.
  • On a routine basis inspect the worksite to identify any potential hazards and risks.
  • Attend client HSE meetings and participate in monthly HSE client review meetings. 
  • Ensure that management is aware of the laws, regulations and legislation within KSA related to HSE.
  • Prepare site visit reports and communicate to all concerned departments as well as with clients if required.
  • Raise any Stop Work Authority if there are unsafe acts and conditions within the workplace and report to Manager, QHSE.
  • Take immediate steps to correct unsafe workplace conditions or hazards within their authority and ability to do so.
  • Ensure that immediate action is taken when any unsafe act(s) or condition(s) within the workplace are identified and report to Manager, QHSE.
  • Perform regular site visits as per the planned schedule, to inspect equipment and to interact with AMHEC staff and Rig Manager/ Site Coordinator.
  • Familiarize self and AMHEC’s employees on PPE requirements needed for each task and how this PPE must be properly worn, stored, and maintained.
  • Ensure that all assigned investigations are investigated on time, root causes identified, and corrective actions assigned to the relevant responsible manager.
  • Ensure that clear direction and instructions are given to the QHSE team to ensure that targets and objectives are met in accordance with the AMHEC’s QHSE strategy.
  • Support AMHEC’s Manager, QHSE and team with planning, coordinating and implementing of effective HSE policies, guidelines and procedures to ensure that the department objectives and targets are met.
  • Leads, directs, evaluates and develops the HSE team to ensure that the objectives are reached
  • Is responsible for the development, performance appraisal and succession planning of all direct and indirect reports.
  • Promotes a highly effective leadership and supervisory style in line with the AMHEC’s values and that supports the achievement of its strategy and objectives
  • Identifies potential successor for his/her position; oversees and implements developmental plans for identified successors
  • Identifies and monitors key HSE functional KPIs, and devises plans and initiatives for improvement
  • Performs miscellaneous tasks as assigned by his/her direct manager.

 

Qualifications 

  • Relevant certificate in QHSE (NEBOSH) preferred or NVQ level 5 (Preferred)
  • Health and safety certification required (NEBOSH General) Preferred or NVQ/NQF level 5.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in oil & gas and/or heavy equipment industry.
  • Incident investigation and root cause analysis.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • ISO Implementation standards (14001, and 45001).
  • Hazard identification and risk assessment training.
  • Able to work independently.
  • Able to travel at short notice.

 

Working conditions
Nature or work may require working beyond standard working hours as and when required.

 

Physical/ Travel requirements

  • Travel (up to 50%) within the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to AMHEC’s sites, yards, and branches.
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • To be available to conduct walkabouts and inspections when required.
