Description

Job Purpose:

The main purpose of the Technician, GEN position, is to perform all repairs, inspection, installation and troubleshooting of generators, tower lights and control panels.

Job Responsibilities

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Perform safe, professional, high-quality, and timely inspection, diagnosis, and repair of all types of diesel generators, low and medium voltage, and tower lights as well.
  • Diagnosis of diesel generators problems using manuals, schematics, and various test equipment (Including PC diagnosis).
  • Perform complex maintenance & repairs for engine and alternator of diesel generator.
  • Run load bank tests on diesel generators.
  • Diagnose and repair any issues found during initial testing.
  • Perform voltage changes on generators based on customer requirements.
  • Re-wire, adjust and install control panels and voltage regulators.
  • Adjust speed controls and various settings.
  • Change oil/ filters and perform preventive maintenance on units.
  • Perform safe, professional, high-quality, and timely inspection, diagnosis, and repair.
  • Travelling to sites to perform all required repairs. 
  • Performing engine, alternator overhauling. 
  • Perform harness assembly of the generator. 
  • Reinstall generators controllers. 
  • Assist with other duties as required.
  • Responsible for maintaining a safe and clean working environment.
  • Performs miscellaneous tasks as assigned by his/her direct manager.

 

HSE Responsibility:

  • Identifies any Health, Safety or Environmental risks and recommends and implements measures and solutions to mitigate these risks.
  • Complies with established health and safety guidelines and procedures and ensures the health, safety and welfare of self and others.
  • Identifies and reports to management any Health, Safety or Environmental risks and makes suggestions to address these risks and cooperate with his/her supervisor’s instructions.

 

QHSE Authority:

  • Contribute to the QMS: to contribute to the effectiveness of the quality management system (QMS) by implementing processes in accordance with their roles and responsibilities.
  • Participate in Training and Apply Competence: to participate in training programs to develop and maintain the necessary competence for their roles, and to apply their competence to perform work activities and contribute to the effectiveness of the QMS.
  • Follow Procedures and Control of Production and Service Provision: to follow documented procedures and work instructions relevant to their work.
  • Report Changes and Nonconformities: to report any changes in their work environment or processes that could affect the conformity of AMHEC's products or services, report any nonconformities and suggest corrective actions to prevent their recurrence.

 

Qualification:

  • Excellent troubleshooting and repair skills. 
  • Having (1-2) years of Experience.
  • Electric Diagrams, excitation system analysis, AVR mechanism. 
  • Ability to measure alternator insulation/ megger test.
  • Using computerized software and diagnosis tools. 
  • Engine mechanical and electrical system control. 
  • Read, Write & Speak English Language.
  • Able to work as a team player and leader with a good attitude.
  • Able to learn new things and teach others. 
  • Hand & Power Tool skills.
  • Read, Write & Speak English Language.
