Job Purpose:

The job purpose for a Custodian, Ready Line Attachments position is to ensure the proper management, maintenance, and availability of tools and rigging equipment needed for efficient operations. And to facilitate the smooth functioning of the organization by overseeing the inventory, maintenance, and distribution of tools and rigging accessories, while adhering to safety standards and promoting a productive work environment.

Job Responsibilities

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Performs custodial duties on all ready line equipment / Attachment / Lifting tools (chain slings/ hooks/Shackles) in the Yard.
  • Ensures that the ready line equipment is occupied with the required lifting tools as per the clients’ requirements prior to mobilization.
  • Maintains an accurate inventory of tools and rigging accessories, tracking the quantity, condition, and location of items.
  • Ensures that tools and rigging accessories are in good condition.
  • Performs routine inspections, cleans, and minor repairs. 
  • Maintains and controls the equipment washing and cleaning prior to sending it to ready line.
  • Maintains a well-organized and properly labeled storage area for tools and lifting gears accessories.
  • Conducts regular inspections of tools and rigging accessories to ensure they meet safety standards.
  • Respond promptly to the inspection request prior to the mobilization and be available on call 24/7.
  • Identifies damaged or faulty items and takes appropriate actions, such as removing them from service and arranging for repairs or replacements.
  • Plans for lifting tools and attachment’s TPI certification in coordination with certification Supervisor.
  • Establishes and maintains relationships with vendors and suppliers of tools and rigging accessories. Collaborates with them to ensure timely delivery of new tools.
  • Adheres to safety protocols and regulations related to the storage, handling and maintenance of tools and rigging accessories. 
  • Travels between different sites and workshops for inspecting the lifting tools.
  • Promotes safety awareness among personnel and reports any safety concerns or incidents to the appropriate authorities.
  • Inspects the lifting accessories (lifting gears, wire rope slings, shackles, jib, chain block, master link).
  • Completes the documentation in line with set procedures, maintaining records and proper reporting.
  • Contacts and communicates with third-party inspector to ensure that the inspection of lifting tools is performed promptly.
  • Prepares detailed inspection reports, fills checklists, documents findings, observations, recommendations for corrective actions.
  • Performs miscellaneous tasks as assigned by his/her direct manager.

 

HSE Responsibility:

  • Identifies any Health, Safety or Environmental risks and recommends and implements measures and solutions to mitigate these risks.
  • Complies with established health and safety guidelines and procedures and ensures the health, safety and welfare of self and others.
  • Identifies and reports to management any Health, Safety or Environmental risks and makes suggestions to address these risks and cooperate with his/her supervisor’s instructions.

 

QHSE Authority:

  • Contribute to the QMS: to contribute to the effectiveness of the quality management system (QMS) by implementing processes in accordance with their roles and responsibilities.
  • Participate in Training and Apply Competence: to participate in training programs to develop and maintain the necessary competence for their roles, and to apply their competence to perform work activities and contribute to the effectiveness of the QMS.
  • Follow Procedures and Control of Production and Service Provision: to follow documented procedures and work instructions relevant to their work.
  • Report Changes and Nonconformities: to report any changes in their work environment or processes that could affect the conformity of AMHEC's products or services, report any nonconformities and suggest corrective actions to prevent their recurrence.

 

 

Qualification:

  • Diploma in related discipline. 
  • Relevant 1-2 years of experience in lifting accessories (chain slings, wire rope slings, shackles, forks, jib, chain block, master link, swivel hook).
  • Ability to maintain accurate records, track inventory levels, and ensure proper storage and organization.
  • Basic understanding of tool maintenance and repairs, knowledge of cleaning techniques, basic troubleshooting and identifying common wear and tear issues with tools and rigging accessories.
  • Familiarity with safety standards related to tools and rigging equipment is crucial to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare clear and concise inspection reports. 
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Managing multiple inspections and projects simultaneously.
  • Effective Time Management.
  • GCC experience & valid driving license are desired.
