Description

Job Purpose:

The main purpose of the Foreman, Mechanic position is to perform/ lead all mechanical repairs, inspection, installation and troubleshooting of heavy equipment.

Job Responsibilities

  • Supervise, guide, and lead mechanical and electrical team to perform all assigned jobs. 
  • Monitor mechanic/electrician performance and productivity.
  • On the floor technical support for his team.
  • Assist in daily planning with workshop engineer.
  • Double check replaced parts condition.
  • Verify parts list requested by mechanic/ electrician.
  • Repair and maintenance of diesel engines, steering mechanisms, transmissions & braking systems.
  • Repair and maintenance of hydraulic cylinders, valves & control systems.
  • Repair and maintenance of pneumatic cylinders, valves & control systems.
  • Perform Inspections on equipment allocated for repairs to ensure complete and progressive preventative maintenance and safety standards of equipment.
  • Perform main components overhauling, e.g., engine, transmission, hydraulic pumps. 
  • Perform preventative maintenance on mobile cranes and aerial work platforms.
  • Adhere to an inspection procedure checklist.
  • Ensure the cleanliness of cranes workshop and work area.
  • Adhere to Safe work procedures and complete risk assessments before commencing any work.
  • Identify Parts for replacement and equipment for repairs.
  • Daily reporting to workshop engineer regarding status of allocated work.
  • Completing job reports and processing paperwork.
  • Performs miscellaneous tasks as assigned by his/her direct manager.

 

HSE Responsibility:

  • Identifies any Health, Safety or Environmental risks and recommends and implements measures and solutions to mitigate these risks.
  • Complies with established health and safety guidelines and procedures and ensures the health, safety and welfare of self and others.
  • Identifies and reports to management any Health, Safety or Environmental risks and makes suggestions to address these risks and cooperate with his/her supervisor’s instructions.

 

QHSE Authority:

  • Contribute to the QMS: to contribute to the effectiveness of the quality management system (QMS) by implementing processes in accordance with their roles and responsibilities.
  • Participate in Training and Apply Competence: to participate in training programs to develop and maintain the necessary competence for their roles, and to apply their competence to perform work activities and contribute to the effectiveness of the QMS.
  • Follow Procedures and Control of Production and Service Provision: to follow documented procedures and work instructions relevant to their work.
  • Report Changes and Nonconformities: to report any changes in their work environment or processes that could affect the conformity of AMHEC's products or services, report any nonconformities and suggest corrective actions to prevent their recurrence.

 

 

Qualification:

  • Ability to read parts book, workshop manual, schematic. 
  • Having (2-3) years of related Experience.
  • Ability to perform major overhauls/repairs.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills. 
  • High school diploma, trade tested/ diploma.
  • Leadership & communication skills 
  • Hand & Power Tool skills.
  • Read, Write & Speak English Language.
